2025 Ferrari 12Cilindri makes PH debut with 830 PS

Electrification may be all the rage today, but nothing beats a naturally aspirated V12 engine under the hood for the brand with the Prancing Horse.

After a roaring debut last year, Ferrari Philippines distributor Velocita Motors Inc. has officially launched the 2025 12Cilindri. Also called the “Dodici Cilindri” in its native tongue, the super grand tourer celebrates Maranello's signature V12 in all its glory and succeeds the 812 Superfast.

At the heart of Dodici Cilindri is you guessed it, a 6.5L naturally-aspirated V12 that serves up 830 PS and 678 Nm of torque. Ferrari's F140HD engine's latest evolution now uses lightweight titanium connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, and a rebalanced crankshaft. This allows the V12 to rev up to 9,500 rpm and benefits from a new system called “Aspirated Torque Shaping” which uses the ECU to control the torque curve between the third and fourth gears.

Power is then shifted to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that's mounted at the rear. Ferrari says the gearbox shifts 30% faster than the 812 Superfast transmission, allowing the Dodici Cilindri to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. It can also achieve a 0 – 200 km/h sprint in less than 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of well over 340 km/h.

The Dodici Cilindri also benefits from four-wheel steering, active rear flaps for better aerodynamics and reduced drag, an all-aluminum chassis with a 20% shorter wheelbase, and a new brake-by-wire system for improved braking.

Style-wise, the Dodici Cilindri appears to have borrowed inspiration from the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Coupe. From the Centro Stile design on the front fascia to the broad shoulder lines and well-defined quarter panels, the overall look of the Dodici Cilindri reminds us of Ferrari stallions from the 1970s with its retro-inspired design. Also worth mentioning are the massive 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile tires, the sloping roofline that seamlessly connects with the rear, and a retractable hardtop (12Cilindri Spider only) that can be deployed in as little as 14 seconds.

Hop inside and the 12Cilindri welcomes the lucky few who can buy such a super grand tourer into a familiar-looking cabin. Those with keen eyes may notice that the Dodici Cilindri appears to have a similar-looking interior to the Purosangue. However, the 12Cilindri has a central infotainment system on the center dashboard – just like the Roma. It also has an extra screen on the passenger side which allows an individual to manage the climate control and audio systems.

Other key features worth mentioning include a flat-bottom steering wheel complete with the Manetinno dial, Alcantara upholstery, a high-definition digital instrument panel, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, paddle shifters, aluminum pedals, contrast stitching throughout the interior, and sport bucket seats.

All 12Cilindri units come with a 7-year maintenance program that covers all regular maintenance for the first seven years of the car's life.

Looking to get yourself a brand-new Ferrari Dodici Cilindri? No prices were mentioned but expect it to cost more than the Purosangue.
