2025 BYD Shark 6 PHEV debuts this week
BYD Cars PH to join electrified pickup truck market with the Shark 6

BYD Cars Philippines distributor ACMobility is making good on its promise of offering more electrified vehicles in the country. After being spotted roaming around Bonifacio Global City (BGC) a few weeks ago, the automaker has announced that the Shark 6 DM-o will be officially revealed this week.
The plug-in hybrid pickup truck from BYD will make its Philippine debut on March 7, 2025, at the Aseana City Open Grounds across Ayala Malls Manila Bay. In addition, the official launch will be live-streamed on social media to allow netizens to watch the big reveal online at 6:30 PM this Friday.

No official specifications and features have been revealed just yet. However, based on a regulatory approval we saw last January, the pickup truck will likely get a 1.5L engine assisted by a pair of electric motors. The engine will serve as a generator that will charge the onboard battery while the electric motors could provide a combined system output of 435 PS and 650 Nm of pull.
With a fully-charged 29.58 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery, the Shark 6 is estimated to have an electric range of up to 100 km based on the NEDC cycle.

The Shark 6 will also likely be offered in two variants once revealed. Based on the LTO homologation documents we saw last month, the pickup truck could be offered in the Advanced and Premium variants. Last but certainly not least, interested buyers will be happy to know the Shark 6 was recently awarded a perfect five-star safety rating by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

With the first batch of the Shark 6 pickup trucks now in the country, those who plan on getting one better be quick. But in case you’re still not convinced, the automaker will hold the two-day BYD Experience Electric Expo at Aseana City.

Here, interested customers can be one of the first to try out the new Shark 6 in a 4x4 track. The venue will be at the Aseana City Open Grounds which will be open to the public from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on March 8 - 9, 2025.
