2024 Toyota Corolla Cross facelift launches in ASEAN this week
Expect to see more than just a facelift for the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross for Southeast Asia

Last month, we reported the Toyota Corolla Cross is due for a refresh in Thailand. Based on the report we gathered from The Land of Smiles, the crossover is set to receive a substantial facelift both inside and out. It could also get some new & upgraded features, along with the possibility of a more powerful battery pack to replace the older nickel-metal hydride battery.
Fast forward to the present day, and we have received our answer. Set to make its regional debut in Thailand this coming February 8 is the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross facelift. Toyota Motor Thailand officially confirmed this after releasing a teaser image along with a short YouTube video about its upcoming reveal.
Based on the material the automaker has released so far, the crossover will receive a new set of LED headlights which appear to be the same ones that can be found in the European and Japanese-spec Corolla Cross. We first saw the new LED units when Toyota revealed the updated crossover back in December 2021. Not only does it come with full LED lighting but the new headlights also come with sequential turn signals that can immediately catch your attention.

Thanks to the wonders of photo editing, we also managed to get a better look at the revised grille. Judging by what we see, it looks like the grille will feature a new center grille. That means the regular hexagonal grille design from the current model could be replaced by something new. Our best guess is the crossover may get a JDM-inspired makeover sans the unique “C” logo.
Under the hood, the 2024 Corolla Cross for Thailand will most likely still get a 1.8-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with Dual VVT-i along with the hybrid version. But as we mentioned earlier, the nickel-metal hydride battery could be swapped for a more powerful (and efficient) lithium-ion battery.

With the covers set to be taken off on February 8, this will be our best look yet at the PH-spec Corolla Cross. The only question now is, when can we expect Toyota Motor Philippines to bring the updated crossover here?
