2024 Mistral: Bugatti's final roadster with legendary W16
2024 Bugatti W16 Mistral has 1,600 PS, and a top speed of over 420 km/h

Two years ago, Bugatti showed the world the W16 Mistral – the open-top hypercar successor of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse.
Now, the brand has shared a few more details about its newest creation as it enters its production phase.

The roofless W16 Mistral is based on the Chiron coupe, but was given a radical new front end and X-shaped taillight elements at the back. The chassis itself is also woven around a completely re-engineered and stiffened monocoque to compensate for the structural changes brought by the chopping of the Chiron’s top.

The result gives the W16 Mistral a more chiseled look than the Chiron, with most of its intakes and scoops intended to feed air to the engine and cooling system while making the body shape as slick as possible for maximum top speed.

It’s also the last road-going Bugatti model to be powered by the brand’s legendary 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine. With a colossal 1,600 PS on tap, Bugatti wants the W16 Mistral to be the fastest roadster in the world as they aim to break the 408 km/h record set by the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. With 400 more horsepower than its predecessor, Bugatti claims the W16 Mistral can reach up to 420 km/h.

Once the 99-unit production run of the W16 Mistral is done, Bugatti is set to remain as a brand that makes ultra-luxury cars with mind-blowing performance, but for the electric age.
