2024 Lexus GX arrives with PHP 7.578M starting price

After being spotted arriving at PH showrooms earlier this year, Lexus Philippines has quietly launched the all-new GX luxury 4x4. Now on its third generation, the go-anywhere SUV gets a boxier look, more high-tech features and amenities, and the ability to cover any terrain no matter what Mother Nature throws at it.

Starting with what's under the hood, the all-new GX drops V8 power for a 3.5-liter (3.4-liter for US market) twin-turbo V6 engine that generates 349 PS and 650 Nm of torque. It is then paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a full-time 4WD system with an electronic transfer case. It also gets a Torsen limited-slip differential with a locking feature, Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control, and a 3D Multi-Terrain Monitor System.

Over to its exterior, the GX gets a muscular and more upright redesign. With chiseled lines combined with a more rugged-looking body, the all-new GX exudes a brawny yet still luxurious presence. Depending on the variant, the GX can come with 18-inch alloy wheels in the Overtrail or larger 22-inch alloys in the Premier version.

Other exterior features worth mentioning are the eye-catching LED headlights, the sleek LED daytime running lights, the signature spindle grille, body-colored (or matte black) wheel arch fenders, and the stylish LED taillights that span the entire width of the SUV.

Hop inside and a leather-lined cabin greets occupants. All models are equipped with a massive 14-inch touchscreen media system that supports wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. There's also a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that can show vital info, navigation, media, and more. The Overtrail Is equipped with a 10-speaker sound system while the Premier is fitted with a 21-speaker sound system from Mark Levinson.

The Overtrail is strictly a 5-seater 4x4 SUV while the Premier is a 7-seater with captain seats in the second row. That means GX buyers who wish to take it off-road or cruise on the highway can choose from either of the two versions.

Other creature comforts and amenities available in the GX include dual-zone automatic climate control, selectable drive modes (Normal, Comfort, Eco, Sport S, Custom), paddle shifters, smart keyless entry, a moon roof, push-button start, and a seat massage function.

For extra peace of mind, the Lexus GX is fitted with intelligent driver aids dubbed Lexus Safety Sense 3.0. This gives the GX smart driving features such as a pre-collision system, automatic high beam system, lane-tracing assist, lane departure alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.
