2024 Kia Sonet launching soon, starts below PHP 800K
Based on insider info, the Kia Sonet for PH will have 4 variants, could start at PHP 770K

Kia Philippines has been making some noise recently for an upcoming vehicle. A few days ago, the automaker released a teaser image of the mystery vehicle that is slated to make its official debut this June.
The automaker has yet to announce what exactly the mystery vehicle is. However, it looks like Kia’s newest vehicle will be the Sonet. Based on the teaser image provided, the front grille and hood look similar to what other markets get.

While it seems the story ends here, we actually made a few calls to our insiders and we were able to gather more info about the upcoming Sonet. Based on what our insiders have shared so far, there will supposedly be a total of 4 variants.
The range begins with the base model LX MT which will reportedly sell for PHP 770,000. It is then followed by the LX AT which will apparently be sold for PHP 870,000. Next up is the EX AT which could retail for PHP 990,000. Last but not least is the range-topping SX AT which will reportedly have a price tag of PHP 1.1 million.

We have to reiterate that the prices mentioned are estimates which means they will likely change once Kia officially reveals the 2024 Sonet soon. In fact, another anonymous source told us that the base model Sonet will start below PHP 800,000 while the top-of-the-line version might even sell for just under PHP 1.1 million.
We were also able to find out about what could potentially power the Philippine-spec Sonet. Kia Philippines has received approval for a 1497cc gasoline-powered engine. This translates to 1.5 liters of displacement which is what powers the Sonet in other markets. The engine makes 113 PS with 144 Nm of torque and can be mated to either an IVT or a 6-speed manual gearbox. As far as we know, this engine is similar to what's powering the new Seltos, and Hyundai's subcompact crossover, the Creta.

With the Stonic supposedly on its way out, it’s not surprising that Kia Philippines is gearing up to introduce its successor. Perhaps the only question now is, will the Sonet be as popular as the Stonic when it was first revealed here? Watch this space.
