After making its global debut earlier this year, Nissan Philippines Inc (NPI) officially revealed the 2023 Leaf at this year's Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit. Sporting a sleek facelift, the updated EV gets a slightly sportier look than its predecessor.

Starting with the exterior, the Leaf now carries the brand's new logo along with a restyled V-Motion front grille painted black that gives it a more dynamic look. The headlights, meanwhile now come with a smoked finish which further gives the EV a flashier appearance. Last but not least, the EV now gets a new set of stylish alloy wheels.

The interior, meanwhile, relatively remains the same as before. It still comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an automatic climate control, a 6-speaker sound system, intelligent keyless entry, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and cruise control.

As before, the Leaf comes with a plethora of intelligent driver aids courtesy of the Intelligent Mobility system. With it, the EV gets the following; around-view monitor, blind-spot warning, intelligent emergency braking, high-beam assist, intelligent cruise control, rear-cross traffic alert, lane departure warning with intelligent lane intervention, and lane-tracing control.

In addition, it comes with the innovative e-Pedal which allows for one-pedal driving. By letting go of the accelerator pedal, the Leaf can automatically slow itself down to a stop which is useful when crossing intersections or when approaching traffic lights or stop signs.

Other safety features present in the 2023 Leaf include anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, vehicle dynamic control, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist, and 6 airbags.

Powering the 2023 Leaf is the familiar AC Synchronous electric motor that is rated to generate 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque. It is then paired with a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that gives the EV an estimated range of 311 km. When charged with the optional AC wall-box charger, Nissan claims it will take around 7.5 hours to fully recharge the Leaf. However, it can be charged to 80% in just 40 minutes at select Nissan dealerships with fast-charging stations.

The 2023 Nissan Leaf retails for PHP 2,798,000 which means it retained the original pre-facelift price. Those interested in purchasing the refreshed Leaf can visit the following authorized dealerships
