2022 Mitsubishi Xpander launched, starts at PHP 1,030,000
Mitsubishi PH introduces 2023 Xpander with new look, more tech

After Mitsubishi launched the facelifted Xpander in Indonesia last year, the popular MPV has finally made its way into the Philippines. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) announced that customers may now pre-order the 2022 Xpander at dealerships across the country.
Yes, you read that right, pre-order. That’s because, according to MMPC, deliveries are scheduled for later this year, sometime in late April or early May. However, the automaker has already revealed all the specs, variants, colors, and prices.

Compared to the outgoing model, the 2022 Xpander receives major design changes inside and out. The front end sees the biggest change featuring a more aggressive face courtesy of new T-shaped LED headlights and a restyled bumper. The grille design was also updated to further add a sporty vibe. Along the side, there are new side skirts and 17-inch wheels. At the rear, Mitsubishi revised the taillights to match the headlights. Though a bit more subtle, the rear bumper is also new with vertical reflectors.

Step inside and the cabin is vastly different too. There’s a new dashboard with a rectangular design, ditching the previous unit entirely paired with a new tri-spoke steering wheel. Standard on the 2022 Xpander is the new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Meanwhile, features such as automatic climate control, electronic parking brake, hill start assist, and active stability control are standard on higher trim variants. Second-row occupants now get cupholders too, which are located in the center armrest.

Powering the 2022 Xpander is still the same 1.5-liter MIVEC inline-4 producing 105 PS and 141 Nm torque. Other changes underneath the skin include higher ground clearance (now at 225mm) and retuned suspension to improve comfort. With all that is new, unfortunately it still uses the old four-speed automatic transmission.
Customers will be able to choose between six different colors for the 2022 Xpander – Jet Black Mica, Graphite Gray Metallic, Quartz White Pearl, Red Metallic, Sunrise Orange Metallic, and the new Blade Silver Metallic. There will be four variants available – Xpander GLX MT, Xpander GLX AT, Xpander GLS AT, and Xpander Cross AT.

There’s also some good news about the price of the 2022 Xpander. The price increase isn’t as big as you would expect as it starts at PHP 1,030,000. As of writing, MMPC has yet to release the SRP of the 2022 Xpander Cross.

Listed below are the prices for the 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander:
2022 Xpander GLX MT – PHP 1,030,000
2022 Xpander GLX AT – PHP 1,090,000
2022 Xpander GLS AT – PHP 1,160,000
