2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 starts at PHP 3.068M

After previewing it at this year’s Philippine International Motor Show, Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) has just announced the pricing, variants, and initial details of the 2023 Ioniq 5.

Beginning with the most obvious first, there will be a total of two variants available; GLS 2WD S (Standard Range) and GLS 2WD L (Long Range). The former will retail for PHP 3.068 million while the latter will have a sticker price of PHP 3.698 million.

Exact details about the electric powertrain driving the PH-spec Ioniq 5 are not yet available. However, a quick look at what other markets get has given us an idea of what to expect. Starting with Standard Range, it comes with a 58 kWh battery pack that puts out 170 PS with 350 Nm of torque and drives a rear-mounted electric motor.

Over to the Long Range, it comes with a bigger 72.6 kWh battery that also drives a rear-mounted electric motor. But since it has a bigger battery pack, it makes more power at 217 PS along with a healthy 350 Nm of torque. Based on the WLTP cycle, the Standard Range is estimated to travel up to 384 km while the Long Range is rated to cover up to 481 km on a full charge.

Colors available for the Ioniq 5 include; Atlas White, Cyber Gray Metallic, Gravity Gold Matte, and Phantom Black Pearl. Hyundai has yet to mention if any of the colors will come with an additional cost depending on the finish.

To give interested customers extra peace of mind when they actually purchase an Ioniq 5, Hyundai mentioned that each vehicle will be covered by a standard 5-year/200,000-km warranty. The battery pack, on the other hand, comes with an 8-year/160,000-km warranty coverage. If that’s not enough, the automaker will also throw in a 5-year/75,000-km free maintenance into the package.

With the Ioniq 5 set to be officially launched next year, HMPH wants to generate interest among customers who wish to get the EV. The only question now is, when will Hyundai actually hold its public debut in 2023? Watch this space.
