Honda PH claims 2023 BR-V can do 24.7 km per liter

We’re only just one week away before Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI) unveils the all-new BR-V. While the automaker has yet to reveal the official specs, they already mentioned that it will be available in 4 variants. More importantly, HCPI even mentioned the official price ranges of the BR-V 1.5 S M/T, 1.5 S CVT, 1.5 V CVT, and the range-topping 1.5 VX CVT with Honda Sensing.

But in order to really grab the attention of interested buyers, HCPI has released the fuel economy figures on some of the variants of the all-new 7-seat crossover. In partnership with the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), Honda tested the 1.5 S CVT, 1.5 V CVT, and 1.5 VX CVT models of the 2023 BR-V.

Out of the three variants tested, the 1.5 V BR-V was the most efficient after returning 24.70 km/l. Meanwhile, the 1.5 VX CVT was able to sip fuel at an average of 23.48 km/l. Last but not least was the 1.5 S CVT that was able to average 22.61 km/l. Unfortunately, it seems HCPI has yet to test the fuel economy figures of the base model 1.5 S M/T.

According to HCPI, all of the variants tested were driven a total distance of 128 kilometers with the following parameters; no use of the cruise control, drove with an average speed of 70 to 80 km/h, and the air-conditioning blower fan was set to 1 while the thermostat was set to low.

All variants tested come with the new 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that’s shared with the City, City Hatchback, and HR-V S. Official output figures have yet to be revealed by HCPI although it’s highly like it produces the same 121 PS with 145 Nm of torque in the all-new BR-V.

“The second-generation BR-V aims to strengthen Honda’s model lineup to the next level. This All-New 7-seater ticks the right boxes in a family vehicle, it’s got the tough character of an SUV, advanced technology and safety features, power, and efficiency to deliver great satisfaction for both the driver and its passengers,” said Masahiko Nakamura, president of HCPI.

HCPI will officially unveil the 2023 BR-V on November 21, 2022. Official prices and specifications will also be revealed during the launch event slated next week.
