2023 Foton Thunder 4x4 unleashed for PHP1.298M
New range-topping Foton Thunder 4x4 available only with a 6-speed manual

Last year during the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), Foton Motor Philippines Inc (FMPI) revealed the 2022 Thunder pick-up truck. Not only does it get a new look, but the vehicle also comes with a more car-like interior, additional amenities, and a new 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Then at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), Foton revealed the automatic variant of the 2022 Thunder. It gets the same 2.0-liter Aucan turbo-diesel under the hood but has the added benefit of an 8-speed automatic to cater to a wider customer base.

At this year's Foton Big Show, the automaker has officially revealed another variant of the pick-up truck. This is the 2023 Foton Thunder 4x4 M/T, and it's raring to go off the beaten path.

Like the 4x2 versions, the 4x4 model gets a 2.0-liter Aucan turbo-diesel. While it makes a similar 161 PS at 4000 rpm, the 4x4 makes an extra 10 Nm of torque resulting in a slightly higher 390 Nm at 1800 rpm. The 4x4 variant is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission complete with a locking differential for extra traction over any terrain.

Helping the pick-up overcome any obstacle are massive 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/70 tires. This also gives the Thunder 4x4 a generous ground clearance of 220mm that is shared with its 4x2 counterparts.

Inside, the 4x4 truck comes equipped with a wide array of amenities. These include an automatic climate control system, a new LCD multi-info screen on the instrument cluster, black quilted leather seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, keyless entry, an electronic parking brake, and a push-button start.
A long list of safety features is also fitted in the 2023 Thunder 4x4. These are; anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, electronic stability program, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, dual front airbags, and a reverse camera.

For extra peace of mind, the Thunder 4x4 gets intelligent driver aids in the form of a front collision warning system and pedestrian protection.

The 2023 Foton Thunder 4x4 retails for PHP 1.298 million and is now available across authorized dealerships nationwide.
