2023 Ford Ranger, Everest gets 5-star ANCAP safety rating

If you're the proud owner of a brand new Ford Ranger or Everest or are planning to get one soon, here's some good news about it.

The Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has just awarded the all-new Everest and Ranger a perfect 5-star safety rating. Considered to be more stringent and stricter when it comes to vehicle safety, the pickup and SUV passed with flying colors in both crash protection and intelligent safety systems tests.

Both the Ranger and Everest were able to deliver high marks in adult occupancy protection (AOP) and child occupancy protection (COP) tests. These included frontal-offset, side impact, and far-side impact tests. Out of a possible 100% rating, the Ranger was able to score 84 in AOP and 93% in COP. Meanwhile, the Everest scored 86% in AOP while COP was rated higher at 93%.

What also helped the Ranger and Everest get top marks from the ANCAP is its extensive list of safety features and intelligent driver aids. In order to merit a 5-star safety rating, vehicles have to have plenty of safety systems present.

From automatic emergency braking (AEB) like front collision warning, lane support systems like lane departure warning and lane-keeping assists (LAS), and an advanced speed assistance system (SAS), both cars from the Blue Oval came with the highly-intelligent driver aids. ANCAP even praised the AEB systems on the Ford vehicles that recognized cyclists in one of their tests, as well as a driver attention warning system that detects driver drowsiness.

Ford proves that the all-new Everest and Ranger are not only safe for their occupants but also for other vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, it's no surprise both vehicles merited a 5-star safety rating.
