2023 F-Type 75 is Jaguar's final ICE sports car

Jaguar sports cars date back to 1948 with the awesome XK120. Since then, all of the Jags that came after were powered by an internal combustion engine. But now it has come to an end.

The British manufacturer is set to become a pure electric modern luxury brand as early as 2025, which means they are phasing out their existing models including this – the Jaguar F-Type. To celebrate its final model year and 75 years of Jaguar sports cars in 2023, the manufacturer has come up with the F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75 special edition models.

Jaguar added a handful of unique touches to the F-Type 75, which starts off with the Giola Green metallic paint job. Meanwhile, there's a special badge at the front fenders that depict the car's “unmistakable silhouette”. There's also a new 20-inch wheel design while the wheel caps and grille badges go from the typical red to black.

Inside, the F-Type 75 gets the Interior Black Pack motif. Like the exterior, the car's silhouette appears on the stainless sill plates and at the top of its infotainment system. The seats are finished in Windsor performance leather while the hardtop coupe has ebony suede cloth upholstery for its headliner.

The Jaguar F-Type has three engine options for its final year – a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo and two supercharged 5.0-liter V8s with varying power outputs. The entry-level F-Type turbo puts out 300 PS, while the F-Type V8 produces 450 PS and 580 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the range-topping F-Type R delivers 575 PS and 700 Nm of torque.

All engines are paired to an 8-speed quick-shift transmission with steering-mounted paddle shifters. The four-cylinder turbo is only available in rear-wheel-drive, while the 450 PS V8 has optional all-wheel-drive. Meanwhile, the top-spec F-Type R 75 is exclusively an all-wheel-drive vehicle.

The special edition models get Jaguar's adaptive dynamics system as standard. In addition, it also has suspension and drivetrain tweaks which consists of revised upper ball joints, rear knuckles, larger wheel bearings, and an electronic active rear differential to improve its handling.

Jaguar says the first customer deliveries of the F-Type 75 will start in January next year, which coincides with 75 years of their sports cars. As for our local Jaguar dealership, there's no word yet if the F-Type 75 will make its way here.

It has truly been a remarkable run for the F-Type sports car, and it's sad to see it go to make way for Jaguar's all-electric future. But as the song says, every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
