2023 BMW M3 Edition 50 Jahre wears heritage colors
M3 Edition 50 Jahre has colors taken from previous M3 generations

It is the 50th anniversary of BMW M this year. To celebrate, the Bavarian automaker is launching special edition models and tributes to the iconic performance brand.
A few days ago, they've brought back the iconic CSL moniker with the all-new M4 CSL, and now they've followed it up by taking the unique colors of the M3's previous generations into the 2023 BMW M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M.

Essentially, the Edition 50 Jahre is based on the M3 Competition xDrive, but honors the M3 lineage by wearing colors such as the Cinnabar Red from the E30 M3, Techno Violet from the E36, Deep Interlagos Blue borrowed from the E46, Fire Orange III from the E92 M3 Lime Rock Park Edition, and the Limerock Gray from the F80 M3 CS.

Instead of the usual BMW badge, the special edition comes with the classic BMW M Motorsport logos on the hood, trunk and the Style 826M forged wheels finished in a unique matte Orbit Gray paint. In addition, the M3 Edition 50 Jahre is fitted with additional M Performance carbon fiber bits in the splitter, exhaust, and trunk lid spoiler to match the carbon roof.
Inside, there's an “Edition 50 Jahre BMW M” badging found on the door sills and the aluminum plaque on the center cupholder cover. The plaque features the production number that indicates the 500 examples. Furthermore, the seats, whether you opt for the standard or M carbon bucket ones, will have contrast stitching featuring the three colors of the M logo.

The special edition model M3 was designed exclusively for the US and Canadian markets. In Europe and other selected regions, they have the M4 Coupe as the exclusive “Edition 50 Jahre BMW M” model that also has the special details of the M3 including the heritage colors.
For the US market, the 2023 BMW M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M will start production by July. As for the Philippines, BMW has yet to announce statements if we will have that limited 500-unit allocation.
