2022 Suzuki Celerio starts at PHP 708,000

By now, you might have already seen several teasers of the all-new Suzuki Celerio. Set to succeed the long-running second-generation model, the new hatchback is all set to be revealed very soon. However, exact details and specifications have yet to be revealed before its public launch tomorrow.

Fortunately, Suzuki already gave us a glimpse at the prices. The 2022 Celerio will be available in two variants. The entry-level GL M/T will have a sticker price of PHP 708,000. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line GL AGS will retail for PHP 754,000.

With the base model bearing the M/T name, this will most likely mean it will have a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the AGS nomenclature on the range-topping variant means it will likely come with the 5-speed automated manual that's also found in the Dzire.

Other details regarding the upcoming vehicle are not yet available. However, it will reportedly come with the new-generation 1.0-liter K10C three-cylinder engine with DualJet technology. In other markets, the engine puts out 67 PS with 89 Nm of torque. The new engine also has improved thermal efficiency, a better compression ratio of 11.6:1 (the previous engine was only 11.0:1) and dual injection.

Given its larger size, we also won't be surprised that it will be bigger than its predecessor. Over in India, the all-new Celerio measures 3695mm long, 1655mm wide, and 1555mm tall. This makes the hatchback 95mm longer, 55mm wider, and 15mm taller than its predecessor. The wheelbase has also been stretched by 10mm resulting in a longer 2435mm. Last but not least, it will reportedly have better ground clearance than before which might help it go over rough terrain.

With a starting price of just over PHP 700,000, its price is now significantly higher than the previous generation. But since it will be a bigger hatchback complete with all-new features, will it actually have a better value for money proposition than its predecessor?
