2022 Mitsubishi Xpander finally arrives at PH dealers
Mitsubishi gives its popular 7-seater MPV a makeover, inside and out

After opening the pre-order books for customers last March, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) officially launched the 2022 Xpander. Longer, taller, and sporting a refreshed look inside and out, Mitsubishi's 7-seater MPV comes with both exterior and interior revisions.
Let's start with the dimensions. For 2022, the Xpander is now 4595mm long and 1750mm tall. This translates to an increase of 120mm in length and 55mm in height. Width and wheelbase, on the other hand, remain at 1750mm and 2775mm, respectively.

Mitsubishi also tweaked the Xpander's suspension for improved riding comfort. More importantly, they improved its ground clearance to 225mm, an increase of 20mm over the pre-facelift version.
Style-wise, the 2022 Xpander gets a more aggressive and assertive appearance. From the new T-shaped headlights, wider front bumper design, and 3-dimensional skid guard, the MPV's new face is certainly eye-catching. The rear relatively remains the same, but the LED taillights now come with the same T-shaped motif as the headlights. Finally, all variants of the are equipped with redesigned side skirts, vertical reflectors on the rear bumper, and 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 205/55/R17 tires.

Hop inside, the 2022 Xpander comes with an updated dashboard with a new rectangular design. It also comes with a T-shaped steering wheel with tweaked multi-function controls. At the center of the dashboard is a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.

Other features available inside the 2022 Xpander include digital air-conditioning (automatic climate control on higher variants), electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, under-seat luggage tray beneath the front passenger seat, six-speaker sound system (4-speakers on lesser variants), power outlets for all 3 rows of seats, second-row cupholders on the center armrest, and cruise control.

Under the hood, the MPV continues to be powered by a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder MIVEC engine. It makes 105 PS with 141 Nm of torque and can be connected to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
