2022 Mercedes-Benz E-Class coming to PH next month
After its regional debut in Thailand last year, ANG is set to launch the updated E-Class for PH

BMW may have just launched the refreshed 5-Series a few days ago, but its closest rival, the one with a three-pointed star, is also set to make its Philippine debut in the coming weeks.
Mercedes-Benz distributor Auto Nation Group (ANG) has announced that the 2022 E-Class is coming very soon. Set to be revealed this February, the executive luxury sedan gets a heavy exterior update, along with technical and powertrain upgrades.

First launched in Southeast Asia last year during the Bangkok International Motor Show, the E-Class no longer looks like a scaled-down S-Class. Instead, Mercedes-Benz gave the facelifted E-Class styling cues borrowed from the CLS.
With it, the sedan gets slimmer LED headlights, new LED daytime running lights, and a wider trapezoidal-shaped grille. It also gets restyled front bumper and a tweaked hood in order to match the E-Class’ refreshed exterior. The rear has been updated as well and now features slim, wraparound LED taillights, redesigned quarter panels, a revised trunk lid, and a new bumper.

Inside, the E-Class gets a more high-tech dashboard courtesy of a new dual-monitor setup. Called MBUX, it’s similar to what the current lineup of Mercedes-Benz vehicles has. Not only does it come with a customizable digital instrument panel, but it also flaunts a new touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. It features an intelligent voice control system that can be activated by saying the phrase ‘Hey, Mercedes’.
Under the hood, the updated E-Class for PH will most likely get a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four. Based on what our closest neighbor Thailand is getting, we could get either the E 200 or the E 200d. The former is a gasoline-powered turbo engine that makes 184 PS with 300 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the E 200d is a turbo-diesel engine that puts out 160 PS and 360 Nm of torque. The transmission would likely be a nine-speed automatic.

With the 2022 E-Class set to be launched next month, expect Mercedes-Benz to reveal more details and features about their latest executive luxury sedan.
