2022 Huracan Tecnica: Lamborghini's new street/track supercar

Automobili Lamborghini likes to introduce a lot of versions of their sports cars. When we mean a lot, that means it's almost impossible to keep track of each one of them.

Case in point. Since the Huracan was launched in 2014, we've seen the LP610-4, the LP580-2, the Spyder, the Performante, the Performante Spyder, and so on and so forth. It's already 2022, and the Italian manufacturer hasn't let up on bringing out new versions.

Just recently, they had the Huracan STO, a rear-wheel-drive, track-focused version of the baby Lamborghini. But apparently, there were customers who wanted a little more, uh, let's say, street-friendliness. Well, say no more. Enter the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica.

Essentially, the Tecnica bridges the gap between the RWD Evo and the hardcore STO in the lineup of rear-wheel-drive Huracans. The new version gets the STO's track-running gear, but the looks lean over to the side of the RWD Evo streetcar.

Now, to the track bits. The Huracan Tecnica is powered by the STO's 5.2-liter V10 engine with 640 PS and 565 Nm of torque mated to a 7-speed gearbox. In addition, it also has a rear-wheel-steering system and carbon-ceramic brakes. According to Lamborghini, the Tecnica offers 35% more downforce and 20% less drag than the RWD Evo thanks to a revised rear section and a fixed rear wing.

Similar to the STO, the Tecnica's HMI interface also has connected telemetry and on-board recording of track times, which can be accessible to Lamborghini's UNICA app.

But other than that, it retains the RWD Evo look that sits more right at home on the streets than on a race track. Also, the interior could also be tailored to your liking as Lamborghini's Ad Personam department offers almost endless color and trim possibilities.

And there you have it. The 2022 Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica. A baby Lambo you can use for a Saturday hotlap in Clark, then park as an Instagram eye-candy at BGC on a Sunday morning.
