Enjoy the open road in the 2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe

There's a new baby BMW in the country, and it's got two doors plus a sporty exterior: the 2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe.
First revealed last year, BMW's newest two-door sports a distinct exterior design not shared with the M3/M4 and comes with M Sport goodies as standard.

The 2 Series Coupe features an aggressive face that consists of a dual-kidney grille, eye-catching LED headlights, and a mean-looking front bumper with massive intakes. In true coupe fashion, the two-door comes with a long hood short deck design that is complemented by sharp angles and muscular fenders. Size-wise, the 2 Series Coupe measures 4537mm long, 1838mm wide, 1390mm tall, and has a 2975mm wheelbase.
As mentioned earlier, this 2 Series is fitted with M Sport goodies. This gives the two-door the M Aerodynamic Package and comes with the M High Gloss Shadow Line, M Sport Suspension, 18-inch M lightweight alloy wheels with run-flat tires, and M Rear Spoiler to complete its aggressive exterior.

Open the doors and you are greeted by a driver-focused cabin complete with Sport Seats and an M leather-wrapped steering wheel. As an extra touch, it even comes with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Meanwhile, the seats are upholstered in Alcantara/Sensatec with contrast stitching that helps keep the driver and occupants glued to their seats. Since this has the M Sport Package, it also has the M headliner finished in Anthracite.
Sitting front and center of the dashboard is a 10.25" touchscreen infotainment powered by iDrive Operating System 7.0. It comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard and is paired with a 10-speaker sound system.

Other available features in the 2 Series Coupe include; a power-adjustable driver's seat with memory function, LED ambient lighting, velour floor mats, high-gloss black trim pieces, and the Comfort Access system. Need to haul plenty of stuff? Despite being a 2+2, BMW says the 2 Series Coupe can haul 530 liters worth of luggage.
Only one engine is available for the 2022 2 Series Coupe; a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-four. It makes 184 PS at 5000 – 6500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 1350 – 4000 rpm. Power is then sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox with Steptronic Sport sequential shift. This allows the 2 Series Coupe to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 236 km/h.

Standard safety features present in the 2022 2 Series Coupe are anti-lock brakes, dynamic stability control, dynamic traction control, run-flat indicator, speed-sensing door locks, cruise control with braking function, parking assistant, automatic start/stop function, and a host of airbags.
“The all-new BMW 2 Series Coupé is fresh, youthful, and gives off an extroverted aura that is complemented by thoroughly engineered and perfectly balanced driving dynamics. We are excited to bring to the Filipino market a vehicle that continues the BMW tradition of driver-oriented super sporty compact models,” said Spencer Yu, president of SMC Asia Distributors Corporation.
The all-new 2 Series Coupe is only available in the 220i M Sport variant and has a sticker price of PHP 3,690,000. It's also covered by a comprehensive 5-year warranty for worry-free driving.
