2020 Nissan Juke still looks funky, can now (almost) drive by itself

It was only a couple of weeks ago when Nissan revealed a camouflaged prototype of the all-new Juke. Despite having a disguise, it was quite clear that the 2020 Juke received a somewhat drastic makeover. It still carries the familiar profile from before but it gets a fresher, more modern look.

Now, we can finally see the all-new crossover in all its glory. Making its world debut is the all-new Nissan Juke. Bigger, bolder, and a lot more high-tech, the next-generation crossover has been upgraded inside and out, and now comes with Nissan’s ProPilot and Intelligent Mobility features.

Starting with its most noticeable change, the all-new Juke gets a new face up front. A sleeker V-Motion front grill, along with thinner LED daytime running lights make their way to the B-segment crossover. Meanwhile, the Y-shaped headlights provide the Juke its unmistakable look. The 370Z-inspired taillights are no more as it has been replaced by a new horizontal design which is equally distinct nonetheless. Finally, the 2020 Juke also gets stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, the carried-over floating roof design, full LED headlights and taillights, and a choice of 11 color combinations.

As mentioned earlier, the Juke has become slightly bigger over its predecessor. It now measures 4210mm long (+85), 1800mm wide (+35) and 1595mm tall (+25). All of these translate for added cabin space, as well as improved cargo carrying capacity. The new crossover is now lighter by 23 kg as well thanks to extensive use of high strength steel. Combined with a more rigid platform, Nissan claims the Juke is now more stable, has better cornering ability, along with new levels of confidence and control.

Step inside, and the all-new Juke greets you with a funkier-looking cabin. A new flat-bottomed steering wheel, refreshed gauges, as well as heaps of (optional) Alcantara trim surround the Juke’s cabin. It now also gets a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment powered by NissanConnect infotainment.

With it, features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, as well Wi-Fi hotspot and navigation are now available in the 2020 Juke. Other key changes made inside the crossover include updated aircon vents, new-style automatic climate control panel, new piano black and faux metal accents, new leather upholstery, and optional Bose sound system.

Pop the hood and out comes a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. The three-cylinder produces 117 PS and can be mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters. It also comes with three driving modes: Eco, Standard and Sport. There is no word yet, however, if there will be other engine options available soon.

A suite of active driver aids are also available on the all-new Juke. These include: emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist recognition, traffic sign recognition, lane departure alert, rear cross traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring. Moreover, it is now also available with ProPilot which can electronically control steering, acceleration, and braking semi-autonomously.

The all-new Nissan Juke will be making its way to other markets soon after Europe.
