HARI to launch new Hyundai EV trucks, new PH built commercial vehicle

Traditionally, diesel has been the go to for the commercial sector. Cargo logistics and passenger transport require the high torque offered by diesel engines, but the advent of electric vehicles also offer plenty of torque instantly and can have lower maintenance costs long term.

That’s why Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official Philippine distributor of Hyundai Trucks and Buses, has decided to boldly go into the electric commercial vehicle (E-CV) space.

On May 2, 2025, the Hyundai Truck and Bus Mobility EV-olution expo at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang, Muntinlupa City will bring together key stakeholders from government, business, and leading transport cooperatives. The goal is to set the stage for the future of smart, sustainable mobility in the Philippines.

The expo will serve as the launch pad of future-forward solutions for transport entrepreneurs, fleet operators, and logistics providers. Hyundai Truck and Bus (HTB) Philippines will be introducing its initial lineup of E-CVs that are engineered for efficiency, economy, safety, comfort, and eco-friendliness.

HARI Vice President and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo affirms that the Mobility EV-olution Expo is more than just a showcase—it is the foundation for the company’s Byahenyo Program, a movement designed to empower local entrepreneurs.

“We want our clients, particularly those engaged in public transport, to evolve with us. The Byahenyo is an empowered transport entrepreneur who embraces innovation to stay ahead of the curve and positively influences one’s family, community, and eventually, the country’s progress,” said Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, HARI Vice President and CEO. “By growing a community of Biyahenyos, we envision the rise of visionary leaders, or Byaheroes, whose success stories will further the transformation of our industry, for the better.”

First on the list is the Hyundai Mighty EV; a light-duty electric truck with a battery capacity of 114.5 kWh, range of up to 370km, and a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 7,300 kg. The Hyundai County New Breeze EV will also be introduced as a clean alternative to the traditional diesel-powered people haulers with a 128 kWh lithium ion polymer battery that provides a range of up to 303 km.

But Hyundai will still be focusing on its core of affordable commercial vehicles. The company will be launching the locally assembled HARI Cab with a Euro 4 D4CC diesel engine is one of the most powerful in its class. This vehicle will have 14-ft deck length for greater payload capacity and flexibility for urban and commercial mobility needs.
