Fuso trucks exhibit power and efficiency in 2nd fuel eco run

After a successful run during the 1st fuel eco run last year, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) – the exclusive distributor of Fuso trucks in the country – puts three more of their trucks to the test, a Canter FE73, Canter FE85-S, and the FJ 2528R.

The route was over the 158.3-kilometer stretch of Jose Abad Santos Avenue-Roman Superhighway-Bataan Provincial Highway-Gov. J. J. Linao National Road, stretching from Carworld, Inc. – Fuso Pampanga in San Fernando to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan.

Each truck was thoroughly checked by representatives from the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), from tire pressure, load (each truck carried approximately half its capacity), and fuel to ensure consistent and accurate results.

“Our participating drivers will also be accommodated by our team to help achieve successful results and good mileage by applying correct driving techniques and following traffic rules,” said Noriyuki Sekita, SFP EVP for Sales and Marketing.

The 2023 Fuso FJ 2528R M/T had eight tons of sand sacks, the 2023 Fuso Canter FE85-S 3.0L M/T with 2.7 tons, and the 2023 Fuso Canter FE73 3.0L M/T with 1 ton.

After a little more than five hours, traveling between 60 to 80 km/h over a public road with everyday traffic and winding hill climbs, and steep descents, the three trucks made it back with great results. The largest truck, the 2023 Fuso Fj 2528R M/T, returned 3.7 km/l, the 2023 Fuso Canter FE85-S 3.0L M/T consumed 7.15 km/l, and the 2023 Fuso Canter FE73 3.0L M/T had the best result at 11.22 km/l.
