Ferdie Ong of Team Rota-Speedwelle took rounds 7 & 8 of the Blaze Super Saloon race this weekend further extending his lead in the points standings. Early on in Round 7, Ong's teammate Benedict Dela Cruz and Kookie Ramirez tangled up with Dela Cruz spinning out and quickly recovering. Dela Cruz was later given a stop-go penalty.
Kookie Ramirez however was bumped back to 4th place trying to avoid a spinout. Ong managed to get to 2nd place behind Nilo Pazcoguin. Midway through the race, Ong managed to get past Pazcoguin and led all the way to the finish.
Kookie Ramirez meanwhile was able to overtake Mike Aguilar (who dropped to 4th place) to gain himself a third place for a podium finish. It was an exciting race from start to finish, unfortunately for Tom Pastor who ran into engine problems with his car which ended his race.
A wet racetrack was left by the heavy downpour during the start of 2nd round of the AF3 race. However, Ferdie Ong did not let it get in his way as he proved that he can win rain or shine. A close battle between Ong and Kookie Ramirez of Team Petron-SRA ensued throughout the race.
Meanwhile, Mike Potenciano of Team Zed-Gulf Oil-MP Turbo took his Civic EG6 to a third place finish, his best finish this season.
