Porsche Design Manila celebrates brand's 50th Anniversary
Porsche Design Manila joins in the 50th-anniversary festivities with its car display and introduction of its brand ambassadors at Okada Manila.

The iconic design studio founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche ("Butzi") in Stuttgart, Germany is now 50 years old. Porsche Design Manila joins in the brand's 50th-anniversary milestone with the announcement of their commemorative collection and a special Porsche car display at the Crystal Corridor of Okada Manila until July 26.
The new 50Y collection includes a backpack, crew neck t-shirt, denim, and a reversible jacket. These are all available in their boutiques in Okada Manila, Powerplant Mall, Resorts World Manila, Shangri-la Plaza Mall, or its newly-launched online shop.

The Porsche display consists mostly of 911s, of which Butzi Porsche was responsible for the original design (Typ 901) that debuted in 1964.
Porsche Design's first product in 1972 was the iconic Chronograph 1 watch, which pioneered the use of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating in the casing, bracelet, and matching dial. F. A. Porsche chose this 'colorless' design foundation to eliminate reflections. In combination with the gauge-like layout of the sub-dials, this watch’s design perfectly imitates the look of the Porsche 911’s dashboard. The watch was built by Orfina from Grenchen in Switzerland. While the design company has been renamed Studio F.A. Porsche and is now located in Zell am See, Austria; the Porsche Design name lives on as a premium lifestyle brand where function and style meet.
In the decades that followed, numerous classic men’s accessories such as watches, eyewear, and writing instruments were created and marketed worldwide under the Porsche Design brand. But there was also a large number of industrial products, household appliances, and consumer goods that were developed under the Design by F. A. Porsche reference for global brands.

Porsche Design Manila took the opportunity to introduce its local brand ambassadors Archie Chiang, Keith Bryan Haw, Charles Tiu, Brian Poe Llamanzares, Migs Bustos, and Philippine National Athlete EJ Obiena (not in photo) with Managing Director Hans Clifford Yao. The gentlemen are pioneering young men that excel in their individual fields.
The new Porsche Design AOC Agon Pro PD32M was also unveiled at the event, while a Porsche Design AOC Agon 27 was raffled off to a lucky guest.

The special display consists of a 365 Speedster, 911 Speedster, 911 S, 911 GT3 RS, 911 (Typ 991), 918 Cayman, and a 911 (Typ 993) art car by internationally acclaimed glass sculptor Ramon Orlina.
