The Isuzu mu-X is no different as it serves as the brand's premier 7-seater SUV. For the 2025 model year, Isuzu decided to give its popular SUV an evolutionary redesign both inside and out. While it still carries Isuzu's reliable and powerful turbo-diesel powertrain, Isuzu also emphasized the mu-X's sleek new looks and high-tech gizmos to make every adventure safer and more enjoyable.
Let's take a closer look at what Isuzu changed and upgraded in the 2025 mu-X.
Macho and Suave
They say first impressions matter, and Isuzu delivered on that aspect in spades. Immediately grabbing your attention are the new Dynamic Blade LED headlights and the Dynamic Design Titanium Carbide grille which give the SUV a bolder and more prominent look. Also adding to the mu-X's sheer new styling is the Fighter Jet Wing Design bumper that highlights the SUV's more aerodynamic looks.
Speaking of aerodynamics, the 2025 mu-X also comes with massive 20-inch Dynamic Turbine alloy wheels. Not only do they fill up the wheel wells nicely, but the aerodynamic design of the alloys further elevates the mu-X's looks. Last but certainly not least are the new wraparound Embrace Line LED taillights that will surely catch everyone's attention when they light up, day or night.
Plush and High-Tech
Having good looks is great and all, but it's what's on the inside that matters more. Isuzu took this to heart when they redesigned the cabin of the 2025 mu-X. With a bold and dynamic approach, Isuzu gave it a new electroluminescent instrumentation that's accompanied by a 7-inch digital multi-info display to allow drivers to see important figures while on the road.
Infotainment comes in the form of a 10.1-inch touchscreen display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features, such as dual-zone climate control with a pollen filter, a power tailgate, a wireless charging pad, and a remote engine start, provide some extra amenities in the 2025 mu-X.
Black leather upholstery also covers the entire cabin for that extra plush look and feel for the occupants. But it is perhaps the LED ambient lighting that will surely add a cozier feel in the mu-X, especially on long journeys.
At night, the ambient lighting will also be a treat for the senses as they illuminate the cabin.
Plenty of Power
With their expertise in turbo-diesel engines, Isuzu is no stranger to giving its vehicles plenty of power (and torque) on tap. The 2025 mu-X is equipped with a 3.0L 4JJ3-TCX four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that makes 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque. Its turbo benefits from a variable geometry system that adjusts the vanes to deliver optimized performance as well as reduced fuel consumption.
On high-grade models, the mu-X is equipped with a 4WD system with Terrain Command Select and Rough Terrain Mode to better tackle any type of terrain with ease. Complementing the drivetrain is a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic gearbox. On lesser variants, the mu-X is also available with a 1.9L RZ4E turbo-diesel engine that makes a potent 150 PS with 350 Nm of pull and also gets a 6-speed automatic transmission.
All-around safety
An essential part of any vehicle is its safety systems. Not only do they provide peace of mind while on the road, but they also serve to keep occupants safe from any kind of harm. All variants of the 2025 mu-X come with a long list of active safety features, such as electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, and hill-descent control.
Additional convenience (and safety) also come in the form of its Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS). From auto high beams to lane departure warning to front collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, as well as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot assist, and a 360-degree around view monitoring system, the mu-X is your personal guardian while on the road.
Last but not least, the mu-X is available with front & rear parking sensors, which ensures every parking job is safe and done right.
