2025 Lynk & Co 02: All you need to know about this crossover EV

After establishing their presence and commitment towards the local automotive market with an impressive line-up of gasoline and hybrid-powered cars, Lynk & Co presents the 02 which is their first fully-electric powered vehicle. This is a 5-seater, fastback coupe that seamlessly combines advanced styling trends with a well-equipped cabin. More importantly, the Lynk & Co 02 comes with a powerful electric powerplant with efficient range maximization, going as far as 435 km on a single charge.

For those not familiar with the brand, Lynk & Co is a global automotive brand that was established in 2016. This is the result of a joint venture between Geely Auto Group and Volvo Car Group. Lynk & Co has been making cars for eight years and is aimed at the “new premium” market to meet the changing mobility needs of the new generation. The introduction of the Lynk & Co 02 is another welcome option in the ever-increasing and highly competitive electric vehicle segment. Aerodynamically Tailored

Going against the conventional crossover proportions, the modern exterior shape of the Lynk & Co 02 has been given a lot of focus in order to optimize its aerodynamic performance. The result is a low drag profile with smooth and flowing body lines, creating an attractive silhouette. More importantly, Lynk & Co has successfully crafted an electric vehicle that’s aerodynamically tailored to help save energy and improve range while maintaining their brand aesthetics.

Distinct styling cues found on the 02 include flush door handles, frameless windows, Black Diamond panoramic glass roof, “Dynamic Day Rays” LED daytime running lights, “Megacity Horizon” LED tail lights, and of course, the unique, grille-style headlamps which happens to be the signature LED headlamps of Lynk & Co. The 02 measures 4,460 mm long, 1,845 mm wide, and 1,573 mm tall. Despite sharing the same outward measurements with most of the candidates in the EV segment, the 02 does stand out when it comes to looking the part.

Avant-garde cabin

The stylish exterior of the Lynk & Co 02 offers a direct reflection as to what to expect inside the cabin. Taking center stage is a large 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system where most of the controls including the air conditioning functions can be controlled. On its left is a flat bottom steering wheel and a 10.2-inch digital multi-information display.

A premium car audio system composed of 14 speakers from Harman Kardon emits clear sound quality. Overall, the interior feels very neat and modern with comfortable seating covered in remarkable material. Another plus here would be the 02’s ambient lighting, creating a relaxing environment that’s a welcome escape from the traffic-laden streets.

The Lynk & Co’s cabin is also highly functional, incorporating a flexible space design that easily transforms into extra storage. Being a dedicated EV platform, the 02 does away with a bulky transmission tunnel in the middle. This frees up additional floor space and the 02 has plenty to offer. Carrying a lot of luggage doesn’t pose a problem for the 02 with up to 440 liters of space with the rear seats up. Should the need for more arise, it stretches up to more space with the rear seats down.

High-voltage power

Propelling the Lynk & Co 02 is a Permanent magnet synchronous motor that’s located at the rear of the vehicle. A high-voltage drive system allows the 02 to put out 272 PS and 343 Nm of torque. A 66-kWh ternary NMC battery pack supports the motor, providing up to 435 kilometers of pure EV driving range on a single charge. Speaking of charging, the Lynk & Co 02 EV supports 150 kW DC fast charging, which can rejuvenate the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. It also supports 11kW AC charging, requiring around 7.5 hours for a full charge.

Performance-wise, the Lynk & Co 02 is fast and confident on the road. Capable of sprinting from 0–100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, it also offers plenty of low-end grunt that’s highly useful in city driving. Suspended by tested and proven Macpherson struts up front and a multi-link setup at the rear, the 02 handles well and effortlessly absorbs any road irregularities. The 02 comes with a set of 19-inch styled alloy wheels with ventilated disc brakes on all four corners.

Safe and tough like a tank

Adding to the list of technological features, the Lynk & Co 02 utilizes a “high strength tank body structure” for enhanced safety and rigidity. Its overall design philosophy aims to provide a robust and safe vehicle structure.
