For over 7 decades, the Patrol has been the beacon of Nissan’s 4x4 capability.

From its humble beginnings as a rugged 4x4 that can traverse deserts and climb mountains to even a luxury limousine that towers above all, the Patrol has always made its mark as the go-to choice if you’re an off-roader, or even if you’re a head of state.

Now there’s a new generation, and it is ready to take its prestigious place at the head of the SUV order. But it’s not about just heritage, as Nissan took all the lessons from decades of experience, and used it all to design, develop, engineer, test, and equip a vehicle that is more than ready to lead.

This is ready to rule.

Bold Style

All throughout the years, every generation of Patrol has looked bold, ready to impose its will on the road. The new generation builds on that proud history, as Nissan crafted an SUV that is a style statement on wheels that looks perfectly comfortable whether you’re bringing it to the trail or to the VIP gala.

The big SUV of the Nissan line gets a full redesign with the sophisticated double C-shape LED lamps in front, the sleek new V-Motion grille, the full-width rear LED bar, and the huge 20” machine-cut alloy wheels. Clients can even select from a variety of upscale colors such as Everest White, Gun Metallic, and Granite Black, along with options for a black roof for that unique dual-tone look.

The muscular presence is thanks to the larger dimensions of the vehicle, as this measures over 5.3 meters long and 2.1 meters tall. Even with the height, getting in and out will be easy thanks to the generous side steps, as well as an air suspension system that can drop the vehicle for easy entry and exit.

Lavish Experience

Quality and attention to detail are key, as it is the craftsmanship several notches above expectations in the class that really sets the Patrol apart. Nissan certainly elevates the riding experience with the Patrol, crafting a premium interior that makes use of sleek black panels, satin silver accents, and leather or soft-touch pads fitted on places where you would put your hands or back across any of the three rows for up to 8 passengers.

If you’re seated behind the wheel, you’ve got a supple leather steering wheel and an ultra comfortable quilted leather seat that has been shaped with space technology in mind to evenly support your frame for comfort. The same goes for the front passenger seat as well as the middle row if you wish to be driven, rather than driving.

And if you’re into technology and in-car entertainment, you’ll enjoy the wireless Apple Carplay and wireless Android Auto displayed on that huge dual 14.3” screen display in front that Nissan calls the Monolith. Nissan even worked with Klipsch to fit a 12-speaker premium speaker system in the Patrol.

If you’re in the back, you’ve got your own screen. Actually two, and you can mirror your device there too.

Intelligent Technology

Nissan Intelligent Mobility has been evolving over the last couple of years, and the flagship deserves to get the very best of that package. Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW), Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB), Intelligent Lane Intervention (ILI), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention (IBSI), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), High Beam Assist (HBA) and Driver Attention Alert are all standard.

The Around View Monitor has been a mainstay of NIM, but in the Patrol it steps up to the next level to become the 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor. This new feature makes use of the Monolith display to give the driver a variety of views, including an ultra-wide bumper view for safer navigation of blind intersections.

The NIM package also sees the arrival of ProPILOT in the Patrol platform, and this opens up new features such as Intelligent Cruise Control for long-distance driving. It even has a Stop & Go function for traffic, and will help center you in your lane with the Intelligent Lane Keep System. All these, are on top of all the standard (and long) list of safety features such as 6 airbags, stability control, traction control, and ABS, among others.

Power Over Anything

Prestige deserves power, and Nissan’s flagship SUV certainly calls for plenty of it. That’s why behind that handsome front is a new beating heart: the VR35DDTT.

Powering the new Patrol is a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. This new heart makes a very healthy 431 PS and 700 Nm of torque, representing a 7% increase in power and 25% increase in torque despite a 37.5% reduction in displacement compared to the Y62 V8. That performance is owed to the expertise learned in the GT-R like the enhanced twin turbo system, the new scavenger oil pump, and many more.

Power also deserves control, and that’s why Nissan outfitted the new VR35DDTT with a new 9-speed automatic transmission for a smoother drive and seamless shifts. Fuel economy gets a big boost too, as the Patrol V6T can achieve 23% better efficiency than before.

Go Anywhere

At its core, the Patrol is the epitome of Nissan’s Go Anywhere philosophy, which is why it must be second to none in terms of capability. The chassis has been redesigned to be stronger and beefier to take on terrain, and the suspension has been reworked to also be tough, but it is the technology that really takes this SUV to the next level.

The drivetrain -while already advanced in terms of performance and efficiency- will come into its element when the terrain gets tough. That’s because the Patrol gets an Intelligent 4WD system (4WD Auto, 4H, 4L) with a 2-speed transfer case and an electronic locking rear differential. This system is designed to give the driver maximum control in any situation that demands 4WD, and can even be set to suit all kinds of terrain such as sand, mud, and rock.

The Patrol already has the height to tower above many obstacles in the road with 244mm minimum ground clearance, but it has another trick up its sleeve: the air suspension. With the off-road terrain modes active, the Patrol can lift itself up by another 50mm (+2.1”) over the surface, giving the clearance you need to traverse the landscape you want to go beyond.

And then there’s the technology, particularly the 3D AVM that gives you many views like the invisible hood view for enhanced off-road precision.

The 2025 Nissan Patrol is now ready at dealerships and is priced at PHP 5,385,000. If you’d like to know more log on to www.nissan.ph/AllNewPatrol or better yet, you can schedule a test at your nearest Nissan dealership.
