It’s been quite a while, but now the Captiva has returned to the Philippine market as Chevrolet’s newest 7-seater offering.

As more buyers lean toward family-oriented vehicles that offer both space and comfort, Chevrolet timed it right to re-introduce the Captiva nameplate and align its features with local customer preferences.

That said, let’s take a look at the returning Captiva to see how it fits in.

Size-wise, the 2025 Captiva returns as a 7-seater C-segment MPV. At 4670 mm long, 1835 mm wide, and 1750m mm tall, it’s bigger than your usual 7-seat MPVs, and features more space inside especially with its wheelbase that stretches to 2750 mm. While its purpose leans towards an MPV, the Captiva is designed with the sporty aesthetics of a crossover. As far as ground clearance is concerned, it has 180 mm to clear most obstacles on the road ahead.

The bold front grille proudly features the bow tie badge, and is flanked by a pair of sleek LED daytime running lights. Nighttime driving won’t be a problem with the all-new Captiva as the road is lit up by projector LED headlights and front foglamps help along in case the road ahead gets foggy.

18-inch wheels give the added style points at the side, while there’s a nice kink on the third window that shows the more pronounced shoulder line. That style feature connects the side to the wide-opening tailgate at the rear.

Inside, the Captiva flexes its spacious cabin that can comfortably seat seven. But more than that, it has a flexible seating configuration that enhances its practicality, especially for those who need a grocery getter or a people mover in one package.

The second row seats fold in a 60:40 split, while the rear folds in a 50:50 split to reveal a fully flat cargo area. With all seats up, you get 12.5 inches of length, and 48 inches of width. When the third row folds, you get up to 38 inches of cargo length and put things up to 33 inches tall. But when all seats are folded, there's a generous 66 inches of cargo length and 49 inches of width for your cargo needs.

For family roadtrips, the Captiva captivates with a 10.4-inch touchscreen that features Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity to keep the occupants entertained on long journeys. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof for the Premier variant to let more natural light inside, while additional conveniences such as smart keyless entry, push button start, automatic climate control, ISOFIX anchors, 360 degree camera and parking sensors both front and rear make driving and riding the Captiva more enjoyable.

To handle both urban driving and long-distance roadtrips, the Captiva is powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 150 PS and 255 Nm of torque. Paired with a CVT driving the front wheels, the Captiva is capable of delivering a nice balance of power and efficiency.
